Green Zone Project
Anywhere you set foot in the world, you’ll find people reaching for the original Heineken® they know and love: cold, crisp high-quality Heineken®. In fact, our little green bottle is pretty iconic, you could spot it anywhere. But you shouldn’t.
And with the 650ml returnable bottle, we’re committed to brewing a fresher world and reducing waste, making sure fields are green with grass, not glass.
As part of our commitment to brewing a fresher world, we’re launching the Green Zone Project creating accessible and inclusive urban green spaces across major South African cities, giving communities green recreational spaces with biodiversity gardens and upcycled art installations.
Phase 1 of the Heineken Green Zones Project will see 5 Green Zones being built in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban covering over 5,000 square meters with a mix of indigenous plants and grasses. And your community could be next.
Could your neighbourhood do with a few more green spaces? Do you know of any areas that could be turned into sustainable, biodiverse gardens instead of fields of glass? Get in touch here and they could be transformed into the next Heineken Green Zone.
